CEDAR RAPIDS — Vincent “Vinnie” Jon Bowers, 17 months, became a saint in heaven Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in his parent’s home at 2008 29th Street N.W. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 510 1st Ave N.W., Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus and Rev. Chris Podhajsky. Visitation with the family will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 F. Avenue N.W., Cedar Rapids.
Vinnie is survived by his parents, Ben and Kristi; his twin brother, Theo, and two sisters, Harper, 5, and Ellery, 3; his grandparents, Steve and Mary Jo Scott of Bankston and Moline, Tim (fiancé Pam Crawford) Andresen of Galena, Ill., and Larry and Judy Bowers of Marion; his great-grandparents, Delores Stelken, Gerald and Joan Gaul and Ann Scott; his aunts and uncles, Kelli (fiancé Nate Mueller) Andresen, Mindy and Greg Milbert, Angie Andresen, Will Scott, Rachel Scott, Tammy and Mark Dougherty, Jennifer Bowers, and Jay and Ella Bowers; and his cousins, Ariel, Aubree, McKenna, Jake, Claire, Easton, Max, Londyn, and Hadelyn.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Vincent Bowers, Helen Bowers, Beulah Bowers, Arthur Stelken, Jim Scott, and Lester and Luella Andresen.
Vincent was born April 25, 2012, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Benjamin and Kristine Andresen Bowers. He loved giving his mommy and daddy hugs and kisses, playing catch, smiling, and stealing toys from Theo. He loved building with blocks, cleaning and picking up, learning how to run, and having fun playing with his brother and sisters. He was always willing to give high-fives to those he met.
